Does anyone have experience with the Lloyd Williamson nurseries or schools? We're looking at the day nursery in W8 but would be interested in any comments on the other nursery and the school. Thanks!

A friend removed her child from the nursery as she felt it was under resourced and a lot of the staff were inexperienced and unqualified. I had a look at it but was put off by two year olds being forced to watch a letterland prrogramme ostensibly to learn their letters which I thought was ridiculous. I think as far as pre-school in the area goes you get what you pay for. The state nurseries Maxilla and St Annes are excellent, with amazing staff, if your child is old enough and you are in the catchment.

thanks for the info, nou- I visited yesterday and found it less than inspiring...they didn't mention anything about TV but it seemed sort of sad and dingy and crowded/chaotic. I'm looking for a day nursery in the area for DD when she's two. There are so few, it's shocking!

There is kids unlimited but the prices are shocking! Many people hire a nanny, there used to be a nanny share directory locally and I see a lot of Phillipino(?) women looking after European kids in the area. All the good child minders tend to be booked up years in advance, but might be worth getting the list from the council in case any have a place.

I've gotten some neagtive feedback about Kids Unlimited- granted, it was from the head of another nursery, but I didn't get the sense she was passing it on to beat out a competitor, as I'd already told her that her place wouldn't work for us because of the short hours. Almost every nursery in the area seems to run 9-3 and term-time only. What are working parents supposed to do? Apparently, according to the nursery head, lots of people have a full-time nanny and send their kids to nursery?!

We had a really great nannyshare that's about to end, that's the pity....(the other family decided to out their DD in nursery)
