Wondering if anyone has recommendations in Hove area(and Brighton) of a good nursery for a baby who will start age 1 this Summer.

Would love to hear from someone who has a child there at the moment and is happy with the care they are getting.
Just starting on the hunt and any suggestions gratefully received!

whereabouts in hove are you looking?

Near where I am everyone raves about Blueberry nursery - huge waiting list though so you may not get a place. My dcs have been at Playcare and I really like it.

You may get more responses if you post local - I think chat threads move too quickly for many people to see them.

Thanks that's really helpful!
Looking at Blueberry website I am not sure if 1 year is too young... Playcare site looks really good, will give them a call.

Open to any suggestions in any location really.. and will post in Local section too!

Blueberry don't take them until 18 months i don't think... my DS (now 3.5) was at CBabiesafe for a year and seemed happy enough... i didn't like it by the end, too big, rubbish food, too many new and untrained staff, too much telly... i took him out at Christmas and started him at Angmering Day Nursery (it is in Hove just near the Tesco). He LOVES it, really makes me realise what a good nursery is... friend moved hers (he's just 2) there too and feels the same. All the staff are qualified, they are so caring, no telly, great toys... i cannot recommend it enough. And the baby room is lovely. They also mix the kids up in age which i really like. I have other friends whose children stayed at Cbabies and they are all really happy - they tend to be children that are more boisterous and outgoing and need less one on one attention, i would say.

Good luck.

also, Angmering (about 39/day) is much much cheaper than Cbabies (52/day) (and Blueberry is about 50/day i think?). I know I seem a bit evangelical about it, but seriously, it's brilliant.

It only opened last september, so maybe one day it will get big and impersonal too, but right now it's exactly the opposite.

Both of mine have been to Hopscotch in Nizells Ave opposite St Ann's Wells Gardens. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Staff are just lovely, really caring and fun. It's in a converted house so very homely with a lovely garden and the kids go to the park across the road too. We have since moved from the area but carried on there as it's such a fab nursery. DS2 is still there and extremely happy. Fees are reasonable too (look at the website as it varies according to age)

If you want a nursery with a seperate sleep area with a cot/bed, then Young Sussex on Dyke road is very good. My DS went there from 14months until 2 years old when we stayed home when we had DS2. A couple of friends of mind also sent there DS1 and 2there and they were happy too. My friend was happy with Wishing tree and people recommend Tarnerland in Brighton as well. Of course there is a big waiting list for both.
When I looked for a nursery for my DS1, I visited 10 nurseries so enjoy show around!

My soon attends to robins nursery,i have no words for the amazing job all the staff does, every morning my soon keep asking me if its time to go nursery and you can see the smile in his face how happy and excited he is and how much he enjoy going to nursery, he already been in 2 very popular nurseries in hove but struggle to set.
the garden is great and safe, kids are well look after and the staff are so involve with them making every day a great experience, my soon got involved very quickly. there are so many nice nurseries around in nice and posh houses, full of toys and massive gardens but no one with that much experience and care as robins, well worth it to try,
lots of activities and fun every day...great management and amazing staff...couldn't be better.
