Hi Juicychops, My dd goes to the Springfield Lodge Day nursery near me and we used to pay 29.00 a day and now that she is 2 is has been reduced to 27.00. She has been going there since she was 3 months old and loves it. They do weaning in sessions for both you and baby so that you can see what they do.

£580/month including food/drinks, but not nappies when ds was still in them.

smellymelly · 21/07/2005 17:46

£50 a day !

I pay £3 per hour, plus £1 for lunch, and 50p for breakfast and tea, I also supply my own nappies and wet wipes.

But I think I'm better off than most of you...

smellymelly · 21/07/2005 18:18

I hope you don't take that the wrong way ... 'better off', as in not as expensive.

compo · 21/07/2005 18:20

£30 a day for under two's at an Asquith Nursery - we have to provide formula and nappies

merglemergle · 21/07/2005 18:52

£32 per day (for under 2s), in Cardiff.

The most expensive one round here is Jigsaw-about £38 per day, same age.

Why do babies cost more at a nursery than 4 year old, not taking the gov. vouchers into it?

jbadgirl · 24/07/2005 20:52

I actually work at a primary steps nursery so im slightly bias, ds comes with me which is ideal! Our normal fees are about £36 per day and include everything.

moondog · 24/07/2005 20:53

Gosh, can't believe some of these! Until last year,£95 a week for a (technically) 50 hour week in a lovely place-converted barns on a farm with good food, charming staff and lots of room inside and out.

Obviously very very lucky.

dinny · 24/07/2005 20:54

£50 a day, ds (11 months) - £42 a day, dd (3)

dinny · 24/07/2005 20:54

blimey, Moondog, where do you live??

moondog · 24/07/2005 20:58

North Wales it was.
(Live in Turkey now-probably about a tenth of that.)
Can't imagine how people manage forking out this sort of cash unless they are on extremely good salaries.

dinny · 24/07/2005 20:59

it's so pricey (my nursrey is in south London) - horrendous.

Ladymuck · 24/07/2005 21:02

Ssd in answer to your question about babies being more expensive - it is down to the staffing ratios - for babies I think you have to have a member of staff present for every 3 under 2s, but the ratio eases off as they get older. Wages are often the highest cost of the nursery.

Blu · 25/07/2005 19:06

£33 per day, DS is 4. Then further reduced due to Early Years grant.
