So just what state do your child's pants come home to you in?? DS has been toilet trained for 3 weeks but obviously had an accident at nursery which meant they chanbged his pants - they did not mention so i just through the bag in the back of the car and forgot about it. The next day I opened the car to a radiant fragrance - I had a pair of pants in the bag complete with full on poo inside - they had not even tipped it down the toilet or rinsed the pants just popped it in a little bag poo and all. Is it just me or at £34 a day is it too muc to expect the poo to be taken out the pants before they put them in the bag?? Or atleast warn me???

I think the very least they could/should have done was to explain to you what had happened. We have not had this happen personally - except when my mum has our DDs and she washes the clothes completely most of the time!

Regarding nursery though I think they could have told you when you picked him up. I also think they could have flushed the poo down the toilet - kind of a tip it out kind of action.

Personally, when this ever happened - DD1 has been toilet trained for nearly a year and DD2 only 13mo so old memories - but I would simply sacrifice the pants!

Might be worth mentioning it next time he is nursery - just in passing but enough to let them know it wasn't really the type of surprise you wanted or expected!

my nursery we either tip it out (the poo) or toss them (the pants) because sometimes it just doesn't come out, and does a nursery really want a nappy bag of pooey pants hanging off a peg all day?

Yeah I would have rather they chucked them than gave me them back with a huge poo inside lol! I will politely say on Monday!

In my nursery we tip what we can and then bag the underwear but ALWAYS let parents know what's in there. We have had a few parents come back to us and say if it happens just to bin them as they would rather we did that.

I work in a nursery and we always tip them, and rinse them and tell the parents!!!To be honest I thought that was what all nursery did!!

Same happened to us, once. Only I put the pants in the washing machine without checking just how pooey they were. Took MONTHS to get the smell to go, half the wash had to be chucked cos it stank after 3 extra washes, and there's a brand of fabric conditioner that still smells of poo to me.

Nursery have never done it again though, and were very apologetic. Hope it is a one-off at your place too.

they should have let you know, that way you either chuck them or deal with it ...

my dd's nursery do just chuck them, which is fine, it's an occasional accident now she is 4 so I dont mind, and I def wouldnt want to dealw ith them at home.
