This is going to sound so stupid, but now my DH has mentioned it I realise it's not just me.

Ds2 has a truly lovely care worker who loves him and is so sweet and I love that she looks after DS2. We have a great rapport and I think she is a lovely person.

But her breath is really terrible. So much so that i can't understand how the children can bear to be picked up by her and be in such close proximity. I cut short our talks because I feel physically sick when we talk, and I am not exaggerating.

How do I address this humanely, sensitively, without hurting her feelings which I would hate to do?

Bloss.

we had a lady that worked at our chemist shop who had really bad breath. Thought it was her teeth initially.
She didnt realise that she had cympylobacter til she got a burst ulcer. After treatment for it, her bad breath went away.

It a difficult problem....i had a similar thing with BF who had body odour and eventually i had to tell him as it made me feel sick. I just plucked up the courage to buy him a deodorant and then told him why.

Its a very awkward situation and one I empathise with.

Im not really sure how best to go about this ....at risk of hurting her feelings if you say anything directly perhaps you could approach the officer in charge at the nursery?

If youve noticed it her colleagues will have done too.

When I worked at the nursery my own hygeine was paramount and i always believed that it was nice for dc to have a quick hand and face wash before they were collected purely because snot/poster paint/waxy crayon/playdough etc etc might spoil mummies uniform.

I'm sure the children would have told her by now. Have a word with the manager and I'm sure she would have a word with the staff member.(That's why I could never be a manager!).

I don't think it is your place to do anything really. If it's that bad, other people much closer to her will have noticed too. This is one for people much closer to her.

sometimes, certain medication can cause bad breadth. My dad has bad breadth too but that's because of the diabetes medication that he's taking and there's nothing much he can do about it because that particular medication controls his condition best. i guess in this case, all you could do is to let her manager raise the issue with her.
