The free part time places at your nursery - what time are the sessions from???

I've just had DS3's letter come through for the nursery I'd hoped he'd go to.

Had put him down for morning sessions (was 9-11.30 when the other DS's attended it) as it would have been easy to drop him off at nursery after making sure the other 2 were at school.

Apparently (I have only just learned this this morning ) they are extending it to 3hrs a day (15 hours a week) funding for the free places. That's great - no problem.......

except the session times are 8.30-11.30

Which is just going to be ridiculous, whether the nursery is still in the opposite direction (but still only 5 minutes walk) from the schools or on the way I'm going to end up hanging around waiting for school gates to open with the other 2.

It's going to be a right PITA and I'm really wishing I'd put him down for afternoons now - as I'm guessing that would have been 12-3.........much simpler

So what time do your funded 3hr sessions run from?

I know you don't have a baby, you are asking about nurseries for a 3 year old. I asked you a dumb q

Hulababy · 04/02/2010 21:17

Can you just drop off late around 9am, like your original plan? Is it ompulsary to do the full 3 hours.

lucysmum · 04/02/2010 21:18

we had a letter today to say that my DDs pre school was withdrawing from the scheme because they don't offer flexible enough start/finish times which is a new requirement from Sept 2010 - so you may have some grounds to challenge them on this.

purepurple · 05/02/2010 07:40

I really don't see a problem with you dropping off at 9 instead of 8.30
I am sure that you won't be the only parent in this position.
