My DD started at nursery for the first time in November (just before 3rd birthday). She's there 2 days a week from 9 to 5 (so I can work). 3 months on and she still cries all morning before go, grizzles about going the day before and screams when I leave her there. She's now started having pooing accidents while she's there - something she's never done since first potty training and generally being quite difficult on the days surrounding the nursery days. If anything I feel it has all got worse over the last month rather than better. I like the nursery and am happy with the way they are with the children but don't know why she wont settle there. She is the youngest in the room (preschool) but she's normally a happy, sociable, confident child.
Do I a/ persevere or b/ look for a nursery where she would go 4 mornings instead? Would that be any better???
is this normal? No other children there seem to have the same problem. And how do I deal with the pooing thing? Ignore? Get cross?
Feeling very dispondant about the whole thing!
Thanks!

God it's awful isn't it, really makes you feel despondent.

Here is my best advice, having been there myself with a slightly younger child (who was nevertheless also like your DD the youngest in the room, which I suspect has something in it).

My immediate questions to you are:

what do the nursery say?
what is she like when you pick her up, and can she tell you what she doesn't like about nursery?
do you get stressed/ hassled when dropping her off? (I did, it was making things a million times worse)

I've got to say too that it seems unlikely to me that "no other children" there cried when they were dropped off, it just feels that way perhaps?
