How much should you like your child's caregiver?

I am considering to pull my son (17 months)
out of a reputable and professional nursery and give him to a private caregiver/childminder. The caregivers at the nursery are all very professional, but I like
the childminder much more. She has a lot of experience but not a professional certification (but very good references). Is "liking" enough, or should I stick with the daycare center?

Some background:
The reason I started looking for alternatives to the daycare, is that it is a big facility and the staff seems to constantly travel by air and I am concerned about the swine flu, since I am pregnant and have very weak lungs.
As at any big nursery, infectious diseases spread easily, while at the other place there would just be 3 children.

I want to consider what's best for my son. While it's important to respect and like the caregivers of your children, maybe one shouldn't pick one purely based on a gut feeling? I mean it's a professional relationship after all...

Not sure if I am making sense at all...

Is the childminder registered? I'm sorry, it's not clear from your post.

Swine flu is already going from person to person in the UK. No one needs to fly to possibly catch it.
