It would be for five days a week, 9 - 5 .
What is the kind of amount I would expect to pay each month at a private nursery?

SW London is terribly expensive for nurseries. When I started looking I just couldn't beleive it. Most of them round here are the same price!

It is even more for children under two I was relieved when DS turned two and the fee went down a little only to be faced with the yearly price increase a week later.

My dd goes to nursery in sw london and it is nowhere near that expensive! Full time is £788 per month. Including 3 meals, almost all organic food, very healthy menu.

According to Daycare Trust's 2005 Childcare Costs Survey the typical cost of a full-time nursery place for a child under two is £141 a week in England, that's over £7300 a year; a rise of nearly 5.2% since 2003 - three and a quarter times the rate of inflation.

CD

That sounds very reasonable indeed.

I wonder why I didn't come across that nursery when I was looking into it. Is it a new nursery?

No, it's Working Mum's opposite the brewery. Here It is so sweet - 2 other mumsnetter friends of mine recommended it and we are so delighted with it.

MoggyMummy · 11/04/2005 15:23

Ahh - yes - I did apply to them but a year and a half ago they didn't have full time hours and my work wouldn't allow me to go full time. I would consider applying again but DS seems so settled in and has his own little gang of friends . it is tempting - just think of all the extra shoes I could buy

Yes, I put dd down a year before she started I was warned that you had to. It is so adorable it really is. Where does your ds go? Why have we not met up if you are local?

MoggyMummy · 11/04/2005 15:27

I've been keeping an eye out for local meets but nothing has come up - I would love to meet with you .

DS is at Kings Road Nursery in Richmond. It is only a five minute walk from work so I can do the drop off/pickup easily (I know I'm lazy)

CountessDracula · 11/04/2005 15:31

That's great - we both get the train to the City so Working Mum's is great for us as we can walk there and then back to the station in about 15 mins total (lazy as well!)

We must organise a meet up then
