I am looking for a nursery for my son in Putney/ Southfields/ Wimbledon Village / Wimbledon Parkside.

He will be 11 months when i go back to work in July.
I am really nervous about him going to a nursery being a full time mom and novice to child care.

Any recommendations/ information will be greatly recieved.

The three best in Putney are generally considered to be Gwendolen House, Noddy's, and Riverside. DS is at one of those -- if you CAT me I can give you more information. You may find that many nurseries are already full for July, though.

Oaktree Pre-school Nursery in Wimbledon Village is meant to be very good.

Also the Gardens in Standen Road, Southfields is good too.

Are you looking for full-time or part-time? Again they're going to have long waiting lists but worth giving them a call.

Thanks PandL and Doozle. I will speak to these nurseries tomorrow and see how long their waiting list is.

PandL - i will PM you tomorrow once i figure out how to do that.

My DD is at Active Learning in Fulham (Just over wandsworth Bridge) She has been there for nearly 9 months and started off as a wee baby. The staff there are great and the facilities are excellent.

You should take a look at a few nurseries just so you could see what suits you as family, Active Learning was top of my list and feel i made the right decision.

Be aware of hidden extras in the nurseries, In Active Learning everything is included in the price for the babies, yoga, dance, music, art all food including milk and nappies and wipes. Believe me this would all add up!

Hi All,

A quick update -
I have been to visit couple of nurseries mentioned. And none have availability till end of year.

I could probbaly get my mom to help till October but after that DS needs to be looked after either in a nursery / childminder/ nanny.

Dont know what do - i am in a complete soup.

Its not quite in your area but I can recommend Eveline in Raynes Park as I have used them. They have a wimbledon branch on Quicks Rd, South Wimbledon as well. No idea about waiting lists but I would have thought the Raynes Park onw would be OK.
