Hi. My first posting here. I've just moved back to Oxford after 6 years in Ireland and am looking at daycare for my DS. It's all new to me and I'm a bit confused about the choices. What's the difference between Day Nursery and Pre School? Also - does anybody have any feedcak on the Julia Durbin Day Nursery in Headington? Thanks!

Day Nursery:
Typically open 8am-6pm (some nurseries open for longer hours) and provides care for children typically aged from 3 months old to 4 years old/starting school.

Pre-School:
Typically open 9am-Midday (some can run afternoon sessions, some will provide lunch). They provide educational sessions for children aged 2.5years old to 4/starting school.

How old is your DS?
Are you looking for all day childcare, or just a couple of hours of pre-school education?

Hi Nannynick and thanks for that. That makes sense! My DS is 21 months and at the moment I'm looking for 1 - 2 days a week childcare. But possibly later in the year I'll look into pre-school.
