I'd be grateful for any advice that you might have about childcare for my DD. I'm not totally happy with the childcare arrangements that we have in place at the moment (long story, but since this is my first post on the board I'll hold off moaning at you all just now). I'm thinking about looking at nurseries in the Aylesbury, Wendover, Tring area which would be convenient for work. Does anyone have any recommendations / warnings off?

Cheers.

Hi there. I haven't used it myself as I did a nanny share, but I know two mums who used BarnOwls in Aston Clinton - both have 2 children and both used for both right up til started school. Seemed v happy with it, including dealing with allergies etc.

Good luck.

Thanks Partystress. I have a friend with a son in one of the older groups there and he enjoys it, but she thought they were less good with babies. Certainly worth a look, especially if you've heard good things. Plus DS runs around all the time and prob wont need the baby room. OFSTED like them as well.

Hi, my son goes to Tring Park Day Nursery and loves it. I was a bit worried as we had problems with another nursery in Tring (avoid Monkey Puzzle is my advice) but this one is fab. Its up at the Cricket Club by Tescos so is convienient for the station. They are surrounded by fields so the kids have loads of space to burn off that energy and my sons favourite thing of the week is the visit to the local farm to meet all the animals (they even sing to the chickens!!) before buying fresh free range eggs that are used to make scrambled egg for tea! The food is outstanding - all fresh ingredients cooked that day - he eats a better lunch than I do! Well worth a look if your looking for a nursery in Tring.

Hello, My daughter is also at Tring Park Day Nursery! Due to prior issues at a Nursery in tring and the most awfull childminder. I was beginning to worry, like you, that i wouldn't be able to find decent childcare. However With Tring park it doesn't feel like a nursery, It feels like im dropping my 4 yr old with extended family. The consistant staff are fantastic!! Their work with the kids is amazing and my daughter comes home with nothing but smiles and stories from her day! I Couldn't wish for anything better!!!

Great - thanks for that! I've just looked at the website for Tring Park and it does sound lovely. But it seems that they only take children aged 2 and up, and we're a bit short of that. Still, I suppose I could go and look around and put her name on the waiting list - a place might come up around the right time.

Good to hear that I'm not the only one with problems. Well, not good really! Just reassuring that we don't always get it right first time but that things can get better!
