Glitter - Health and Safety in New Nursery Worry!

I'm hoping someone can help as to whether this is a worry or not. I went to look at a nursery yesterday and the babies (6 mths - 2 years) had been playing outside in very glittery water. They were being brought inside smothered in it, with it round their faces (near to eyes, nose, mouth). I think that most of the babies were wiped down before their nap (I couldn't see that closely), but there was an older child (maybe 18 months) who was lying on a cushion, being encouraged to sleep, who still had glitter all over her hands/arms and face.

Would you be concerned that this was a health and safety concern if it was your LO (what does glitter do in eyes?) or am I worrying about nothing?

Children should be covered in glitter, glue, mud and chocolate on regular basis imo.

I wouldn't worry.

Glitter is a bugger to get off, they may well have cleaned the child up as best they could. My dd comes home sparkly quite often. It's especially difficult to get it out of her hair - I have given up making a special effort as it seems so futile. It's nothing to worry about

Wait til your lo passes their first glitter poo. I freaked when my pfb passed a stool that was sparkling.....
Seriously though, this wouldn't worry me at all. When the DC have the glitter out I end up cleaning them and the house for weeks. Even when they have it outside, it permeates the house, and I find it in their hair, up their noses, in their ears, under their neck for a long time after!

Honestly? I'd be more worried if dd came home without paint, glue, glitter and dirt all over her.

Ok, thats a relief - I do love the messy play idea for little ones (I'm a reception teacher, so am used to children covered in all sorts!) but I have no experience of very little children and didn't know what was considered safe for them (baby is due 24/9, but nursery places round here fill up fast - hence looking round so early!).

I love the glittery baby - DS is 2 now, but still gets glittery hair and its just soo cute.

Sounds like a nice nursery if they'd been outside having lovely messy play

The messy play is what I pay £45 a day for Saves my carpets!!!
