Hiii guys looking for ideas for teacher gifts my son will be leaving this term for reception, he's been there nearly 3 years and they are honestly an amazing nursery and lovely staff, he has 3 teachers and 1 key worker. Usually at Xmas or summer hols I get them all a amazon gift card and some chocolates but want something more special?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Something for the environment that they might not be able to afford (such as stuff from learning resources) or that they always need (craft/art) are always appreciated in my experience alongside a heartfelt card. That way the staff can enjoy doing new activities because of your child.

A gift card is honestly the best as they can buy themselves something they really want.

Please don't do this.

@republicofjam oh why? I was thinking a personalised gift each for them, and a box full of arts and crafts and resources would be a good idea! Do you work in a nursery? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Why not? I work in education and honestly we appreciate all the gifts given to us although we never expect them. However, most of this stuff is brought out of our own wages so it's definitely appreciated.

My sons nursery is funded all by the staff, every piece of furniture, toys, snacks, resources is strictly funded by the 3 staff members. I was thinking of a personalised gift each and a large box full of arts and crafts and resource items for them

I work in a nursery and think this is lovely

Personalized gifts are always the best, go for it! Chocolates and/or amazon gift cards could make a good addition but you can also do something like personalized desk calendars for them or notebook and pen gift sets. Stationery and things like that are always useful and wouldn't lay around collecting dust.

Op you really can't go wrong as long as you avoid tat, theyre not entitled to presents so anything should be appreciated!

While donating resources to a setting is a lovely gesture, nursery supplies aren't actually a gift for the staff. They are operational business expenses and it's a pretty sad reflection on the state of UK childcare that it is seen as acceptable for practitioners, usually on minimum wage to purchase from their own pocket or to receive as a personal gift.

Having worked in early years myself, my personal practical recommendation would be a voucher or even just a card with a heartfelt message. In my experience these are always appreciated.
