Nursery mornings: did consecutive or spaced-out days work better?

Hi everyone,

I’d really appreciate some advice/experiences 😊

My daughters are starting preschool this September and we have the option of sending them for two mornings a week. I’m a stay-at-home mum during the week, and my husband is home at weekends, so we’re just trying to figure out what kind of schedule would work best for them (and us!).
We’re torn between:

  • Two days together (e.g. Tuesday & Wednesday) so they can get into a bit of a routine and flow
  • Spaced out days (e.g. Tuesday & Thursday) so they have a rest/reset day in between
I can see pros and cons to both — I like the idea of them settling in properly with back-to-back days, but also wonder if the break in between would be better at this age. For those of you who’ve been through this, what worked best for your little ones? Did you find they coped better with consecutive days or having a gap in between? Thanks so much!

We did Tuesday and Thursday until they were three, then it was Tue, Wed and Thur for DD1 (DD2s preschool was just three hours a day, 5 days a week).

I chose it aroubd what else we did in tge week... Monday was music, Wednesday was Crafty club, Friday we liked to get away fir the weekend!

I dobt tjink it really mattered tbh.
