Do I need to buy a goodbye/thank you gift?

DD has been at nursery since Aug 2007 and is about to move up into an older class. This class is right next door to her current class. My question: does she (ie me) need to buy a gift for the carers she is about to leave or am I being overly pc? I was only thinking of a box of chocs - too much? Any advice appreciated.

Having worked in nurserys myself, I think alittle gift of some choccys would be very sweet (s'cuse the pun !!).
Dont too much over it though

Meant to say - Don't fret over it too much though

I just did it when ds1 left to go to school - gifts for all then, but he'd only been there 2 years. Class teachers do after a year.

Thanks everyone. I've bought a small box of chocs as I'm planning to use the carers as future babysitters! Might as well keep them sweet!

I only bought a thank you gift at Christmas and then when DD left the nursery for good.
