Hi. How long did it take your child to settle. My 15 month old has had 2 1 hour break in sessions and has sobbed the whole time. He is to attend full hours and I’m worried at how traumatised he was in the 1 hour sessions

I posted so many times on the same subject. My daughter was 3 in February and had always been at home with me. We took her to view her preschool last September and it went terrible, she banged her head in frustration as she hated it that much and caused a massive bruise. I was mortified. I spent the best part of 6 months worrying about how she was going to adjust when she started in April. Her first day arrived and she went in all by herself, she then had a wobble the second week. Her teacher had to peel her off me. Within a few more sessions, her crying got less and less to the point now she loves it and is currently desperate to go back in September after the school holidays.

Try not to worry, I used to lay awake at night worrying about it but it will work out just fine.

Thanks. I just hope he gets used to it and the way they run things as different to when he’s with me

It took my little one a month to the day to go into nursery without crying. She was 10 months when she started and was attending full time. She can still get upset sometimes if she’s had a break from nursery but for the most part she’s okay and seems to be enjoying herself.

It’s been a tough journey but I’m definitely starting to see the benefits as she is in a much more social environment than she would be at home, both with other adults as well as the children.

That’s nice to hear. I’m so worried for him but I know it needs to be done
