Currently pregnant.
Our child is due approx March 2026..

Can someone pls tell me about the nursery hours they could get when 9 months old ?

( although - realistically - they may not go to nursery part time til they are at least 1 )

If you are a single, working parent, or two working parents together, earning the equivalent of 16? hours at NMW, and neither of you is earning over 100k then you could be eligible for 30 hours of funded (not free) childcare from the term after your child is 9 months old.

Google ‘childcare choices’ for more information.

Exactly this! I’ve been through this process twice in the last two years and this info is spot on.

Also I would say that because the funding increases to 30 hours in September, nursery places are filling up FAST so I would register your interest with a select few asap as some places are being filled up to a year in advance! My daughter was only born a week ago and I registered her with my son’s nursery before she was even born 😂

Basically what the above posters said, but just wanted to add that every nursery is different in how they let you use the funded hours so it's something to consider. For example you might get 3 long days or 5 short days or something else. A lot of nurseries also do 22.5 hours instead but you can use the funded hours all year round.

Funded hours can also be used with childminders, not just nurseries.
