Going full time

So I’m going full time at nursery……potentially…..
currently my son (2 years old) is in nursery 3 days a week, with me Wed, Thur, Sun and with his granny on Saturday.
He ADORES nursery and runs in shouting bye Mama…….

I’m going for a new job which means he would be in Mon-Fri but I’ll see him every night (which I don’t atm I do 9-9 Friday and Saturday so barely see him over these days)

I’m a single parent and I really want this job as it’s more money and a better quality of life. I’ll see him to put him to bed every night but I’m struggling with mum guilt!

I feel blessed I’ve been able to last so long on 4 day weeks but I’m miserable in my job and knackered on my days off as it’s on your feet all day and I have severe arthritis in my ankle. New job is office based and new learning which I love!

just looking for some support x

Do it. My now 11yo DD was in nursery full time, long hours, from aged 5.5 months. She was always very happy there, and now is a well adjusted child who's happy at school, and we still have a great bond.
IMO it's a matter of perspective; in the UK so many women part time, but I'm from abroad (western european country) were a) mat leave is only 12 weeks and b) nurseries are much more embedded in the culture - and a lot cheaper. Everyone I know there sends their babies/toddlers to nursery at least 4 days a week if not full time.
For me - my job is and was important to me, I was also the main earner in our household, and quite frankly financially it made no sense for me to go part time.

It's not always been easy (mostly because of other people's reactions and guilt tripping!), but we're hoping for another baby at some point soon, and I'm planning on doing the same thing.
