Was this appropriate behaviour from a social worker in a nursery?

Hi. I was wondering if people can give comments on something that caused me concern at the time but I am now even more concerned about.

A few months ago a social worker arranged a visit of my 2 year old daughter in her nursery to arrange contact with me(dad)
I entered the nursery and my daughter was unsettled. She wasn't happy at all and shortly after we went into the outside area.

The social worker then lifted the eyelids of my daughter and said " there are no tears, this is not genuine grief, don't worry, I will record this" she then put her hand in my daughters crotch area and said " this is wet, she has weed herself and will need to change her clothes." A nursery worker then took her and changed her and shotlrtly after I said goodbye and left.

I have doubts that she even wet herself in the first place and may have looked for this. Incidently in the records, the eyelid check was not recorded. My biggest concern is that the social worker(female) had no right to touch the private area of my daughter to look for weeing. Why was she doing this in the first place? Surely only nursery workers have the right to do this?

Please can people advise what they would do in these circumstances?

Thanks

@Eyeofthetiger786 Can you make contact with her supervisor to express your concerns? She shouldn't be handling your daughter in such a way. Did anybody else witness it?

There were nursery staff there who have denied they saw this. I remember only me and the social worker present at the time. I don't recall anyone else witnessing it.

Why didn’t you say something to her at the time?! There’s no way what she done is ok.

Inappropriate for her to touch a child's body in that way as a complete stranger.

Inappropriate to touch her eyes or crotch, I'd speak to her manager.
