Poo on clothes

Picked my child up from nursery yesterday, went to change him as he smelt poopy but found his nappy only damp and poo was dried inside his vest. Above and to the left of the poppers. Enough that I noticed right away. Not enough that you could miss it. I'm so cross. His care diary says he was changed from a poopy nappy at 1pm and then changed from a wet one at about 3.30. How has no one noticed or smelt it? His nappy was on correctly so it's not that he's had a wet trump. I've emailed the manager asking her to contact me. Just abit of advice on what you might do or say. I feel guilty that he's been there pooey. I'm not worrying more about the contradicting information I get about what he is and isn't eating. I've worked in childcare so was thinking "Sometimes they eat or don't eat different to at home, don't worry". Now I'm stressing even more.

I couldn't get worked up about this. They've obviously just missed it.
Poo inside the vest above the poppers isn't great -( how much are we talking about?) But I wouldn't say its neglectful it's just a mistake.

This. No harm done. Let it go.

Thing is I've never known a child to go home with poo on their clothes in all the years I've worked in childcare. And he's had 2 changes and stinks of poo and it's still been missed. If it was his last nappy change I'd be more like - yeah okay don't get too het up - ya know?
A decent smeer, I'd not even mention it if it was only little. soon as I undid his poppers it's there 💩 💩 Thanks for responding☺️

I wouldn't be happy either, my son has stomach issues and sometimes his clothes are changed three times a day at nursery, he never comes back unclean.

Maybe you haven't known, because you haven't spotted it and made a mistake yourself. As long as you're happy with the nursery, I wouldn't make a big fuss over this.

Thank you. I just feel like basic care is then being clean. 5 hours had passed since he had a poory nappy and he had had another nappy change where no one had changed him. It was very hard to miss. If I sent him in like that it would be mentioned. I'm not going to go offensive one. I just need them to know what's happened and they need to make sure it doesn't happen again to any of the children.

Gosh you are being completely ott, asking the manager to contact you ASAP over a trace of poo on your childs vest? Come on! You must be a nightmare to deal with. There are people with actual problems in the real world ffs.

LunarMoon92 · 09/01/2025 06:56

😂 Hardly, I'm alot more lenient than most having worked in nurseries.
Quite alot of poo actually, I wouldn't even mention a trace. Thanks anyways !
