If you work in a nursery ( a very - very big and busy nursery)
And your based in a big and busy room
And your room leader is off sick..

What happens.
Ie is there a deputy room leader ?
Do management or other leadership staff step up?
Or what happens ?

My place has a deputy room leader. If they're both off we work as a team, but we're a room full of more competent people than some.

Deputy room leader sounds like a good idea

My nursery is fairly small so usually the most experienced person will be capable of taking charge in the absence of the room leader. If they had to have a difficult conversation with a parent usually someone from management would support them if they needed it.

Where I used to work we would all just muck in. We all knew the basics ok all the paperwork so things got done.
If there was a major problem then management would step in. I think a deputy room leader would have been a good idea
