My little boy has started nursery, only doing a 2 half days, but he hates it, he gets upset before going, won’t let me leave, just generally seem to dislike nursery, im
thinking about taken him out but worry about when he has to start school and how he will adapt to that if he don’t go to nursery and if his missing out by not going to nursery,we are unsure if he has Autism and are currently working with the health visitor to see if he has, has anyone else taken their child out of nursery? How did they adapt to starting school? Thanks

2half days isn't very much to enable him to settle. How is he when you have left? You have to hand him over and just walk out and let the nursery staff do their thing.

How old is he?

How old is he and when did he start? If he’s 3+ so school next year, and it’s a school nursery where he’s only been there a week and a half, so around 5 times total, then you might want to give it more time because it’s very normal for kids who haven’t been in childcare before to take time to adjust especially when they only go part time.

His 3, it’s all the availability they had, when I leave he has a meltdown and he won’t let anyone near him, they have had to ring me to come and get him as his got so upset and worked up,

So is it school in September? What are the nursery putting in place re Sen concerns.?

It can be helpful to access a nursery for social development, to identify concerns before school and for additional professionals monitoring.

The other concern is school would be a bigger shock to the system without nursery.

I would consider what nursery are doing to support your child's transition and potential Sen needs and whether this nursery is the best environment but I wouldn't rule out pre school education entirely.
