Using two providers for 30 hrs.

Hi, my daughter is 2 years old and currently gets 15hrs funded childcare at a day nursery setting ( hours used term time only)

When she turns 3 in march she will be eligible for extended 30 hours.

The setting she currently is in offers 30 hrs. However I would like to use the additional 15 hrs at a different setting a pre school with a nursery attached. This pre school also offers the 30 hour funding scheme. Her current setting is under a different council to the pre school setting.

How do I split the hours. Do you I just give each provider the same 30 hour code and tell them the hours I want ( 15 in each). What if each setting uses the code to try claim full 30 hours? Also will them being two different councils affect my ability to split my hours?

The one she's currently in is the the council I am under. The pre school is under a different council x

The 30 hours is made up of 2x 15 hours, universal and extended. You tell one you're using your universal 15 hours (no code needed) and the other the 15 extended hours (code needed).

I am not sure across different councils, but usually nurseries liase with each other. 15 hours will be the universal entitlement, and 15 the extended. I work in a nursery and when we share a child a simple phone call sorts it out. For 30 hours you will need to get a code to give to the settings, it would be valid for the term after your child turns 3.

Is there a preference as to which one should get the extended and which one gets the universal or can I just pick either x..sorry for all the questions I just want to get it right x

Hi OP.
Any luck with this.?
I'm trying to do the same with two local nurseries also because of my work pattern.
One nursery said no problem whereas the other said they are not sure as no one has requested this before.
