9 month old funding help

Hi, my son is 9 months on the 8th September. I applied for the funded hours 3 weeks ago and received a code. I passed the code on presuming it would start in January (the term after he’s 9 months) however, today I’ve been given a bill and it’s for my funded hours. The provider said my code worked and he is presumably eligible now?
I can’t see how when he wasn’t 9 months before 31st August to receive it this term. Can anyone give any advice as to why my code may have been accepted early?

At risk of sounding weird, what's his DOB?

I would be cautious in case they amend their statement.

It should be for children turning 9 months by Aug 31st.
Maybe they have only verified the code but not actually entered the funding details yet. Expect to get the full bill at some point.

His birthday needs to be before the 31st November 2023 to be 9 months by the 31st but yeah if he was born after that he isn’t eligible for funding until January and the nursery will probably realise at some point.

30th November but yes.

The code should have flagged up that it isn't eligible for the right period but they may not have checked it properly yet. Some just assume because you have been issued a code then you must be eligible. They might realise when they enter their Actuals for the term and they don't get paid! This could be in about a month's time.

@LaurenPrice94 As I've said on your other thread your provider will have run a check on your code on their portal and been given the result you have a valid code.
The code will show as valid, but they must also take into consideration your child's date of birth to establish when your funding will begin.
They will not be able to claim the funding this term if your child was born after 30th November 2023.
I would suggest you ask them to contact the local authority to double check this as they're going to have a shock when they try to submit a claim for your child.
