Realistically what should I do about DD being hurt?

DD is 19m and came home with a sore top lip. I did not know what it was, so I took her to the Nurse to get it checked as I thought it could be hand foot and mouth. It turns out it is "probably" a burn or a graze from a fall. Most likely a burn.

I have spoken to Nursery and they are investigating. DD seems fine - normal self in everyway.

She has been there nearly a year, is very happy and learns new things all the time. She even wants to stay when I pick her up some days.

I really don't want to pull her out for many reasons but something is telling me that perhaps I should - accidents happen but they have procedures they should have followed.

I am ranting now! Any thoughts? or experienced Nursery workers who can give me their point of view?

I would wait and see what the nursery says about it before you take any further action.

have you spoken to the nursery?

Did you not have to sign an incident form

newgirl · 15/04/2008 12:25

if the accident happened at nursery they should have filled in the accident book and shown it to you when you picked her up so you could discuss the incident and sign the book - did this happen? if not, I would talk to the nursery manager about it.

doh - just seen you have spoken to the nursery

what are they investigating - how she could have been burnt/sequence of events

i think Belgo is right - wait and see

Yes I have spoken to them. And no I did not get an accident form which is why I am a bit worried. If they had just told me straight away I would have accepted it and moved on knowing it had been looked into etc. but either they did not see her burn herself (or fall if that is what it was) or they were trying to hide it.

I supose I am worried that they were not paying her enough attention. She has fed herself really well from early on (thanks to BLW!) so maybe they are a bit complacent (sp) about her at meal times.

I will hear from them tomorrow when I drop her off (or not as the case may be!).
