Broke the 3 poo rule

My granddaughter is 2.5, fully potty trained but has been barred from her private nursery for two days as she has broken the above rule. There is nothing wrong with her she just went for 3 poos in one day! Does anyone else think that this is a ridiculous rule as they weren't even runny poos. My son has had to take two days off work to care for her!

How do you know they weren't runny? The 48 rule is usually not for doing 3 poos, but for a suspected stomach bug. But if there is an actual 3 poo rule at the nursery that is bizarre - if it's not set out in their terms and conditions then your son should push back. But my guess is that it was a bit more explosive/runny than you have been told..

I'd get your son to speak to the nursery , if they weren't runny , this is not on.

I never even said 'my poor son' I Just think that it's wrong. My son loves looking after him!

Loves looking after who? Who is 'him'? Someone else's child from nursery? (You don't 'look after' your own child.)

If they applied that rule in the workplace my boyfriend would be unemployed! He can easily go 4 times per day (the guy eats a lot of fruit and veg, and his morning muesli…)
I’ve read it all now. So sorry for your son. Roll on school ehh.

How do you know they weren’t runny?

Presumably the nursery told her or her son who relayed the message

PeaceOnThePorch · 18/04/2024 14:11

Hmm. A typo is not writing ‘him’ for a granddaughter. That’s something else. 🤔

Trulyme · 18/04/2024 14:29

It sounds extreme but if this is unlike her and they think she’s poorly/becoming poorly then it’s often better to be safe than sorry and have half the staff off with V&D.

Fancybed · 18/04/2024 14:39

If it's because they're worried she's ill, why wouldn't they send her home straightaway?

Fancybed · 18/04/2024 14:40

This thread is most amusing. The responses are so coloured by the fact that the inconvenienced parent is a man.

HauntedBungalow · 18/04/2024 15:14

I think it's more that the child appears to have changed sex mid-poo.

Crazy isn't it

Luckily DH does not attend such a place. I have no idea how a person can go as many times a day as he does, no diarrhoea or constipation, just several normal shits a day………. Supposedly it indicates an optimal metabolism but it still think it’s weird.

God me too. Four or maybe even 5 isn't even that unusual.

In my case I think it's too many crisps Grin

I understand your concern given the topic, but changing minor details like the sex or age of a child is sensible to avoid being recognised.

Theunamedcat · 18/04/2024 18:05

Most people change the sex of a child to avoid being outed ffs

Rabbitsarebraver · 19/04/2024 07:22

Ask for their sickness policy and see if this is correct? If so, it’s the parents fault for not reading the T&C properly. Chances are the poos were loose

I have a set of Triplets two girls and a boy who turn two in a few weeks.I cannot tell you how hard it is as we have no nanny so it is just dad and i so am a full time mummy.

If anyone can give me advice where to get stuff like donated clothes,nappies/wipes,toddler room furniture that would be great.Dad works full time so we good for food and morgage.

They go to nursery in September, fingers crossed we get the 15hrs childcare and i can rest some.
