Hi All,
I'm a bit stumped - which with lack of sleep isn't abnormal 😆.
My DD was born in early Oct 2021 and I want to register her for Nursery when she turns 3 - just 15 hours a week as only one of us works.
I have tried to register her on gov.uk and it only shows D.O.B up to August 2021 so Im stuck and can't register her.
Has anyone else experienced this - i'm at a loss of what do you. I don't want to miss out on a place because i missed an avenue I can check.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
Thank you

January 2025, the term after she turns 3

Also just re reading your post, you don't need to register her anywhere but with the nursery you are applying for. I'm not sure what you're looking at on gov.uk.

Depends where you are. In Scotland you register them when they turn 2 and they have 2 weeks of settle sessions and start officially the day after their 3rd birthday.

See I always thought this was the case too but my youngest started nursery the term before he turned 3. Maybe different schools have different rules?

That is when they will be funded from the government but some settings will accept early to secure bums on seats and take the financial hit themselves. This is rare these days, they might offer it early but charge parents, usually with a threat that if they don't take the place when it's offered, it might not be avaliable at all.

Funding for the 15hrs starts the term after they turn 3yo. In your daughters case this will be Jan.

You can speak to local preschools and nurseries to get a space reserved. If you want her to start in the autumn term you may have to pay for that term. Basically choose the nursery/preschool you are interested in and speak with them about how to enrol her.

Thanks all, the local nursery we want to send her too links to the local council/gov.uk site to add her details. But I have emailed that nursery directly now see if I can hold a place for her in Jan 2025.
Thanks for all your help
