Hi all,

I am 27+3 and have been advised to register for nursery ASAP for next year.

The closest one to us is a Bright Horizons which looks lovely and for convenience cannot be beaten. Hours are 8-6 which isnt as long as some others a bit further afield.

Anyway, it is £98 a day - which seems a good £15-£20 more a day than other nursery providers. Is there a reason for this uplift? Would be great to hear from anyone who has loved BH or thinks its overpriced. We'll pay it if its worth it in the whole, but its a lot of ££.

Thanks xx

My daughter is at Bright Horizons. I have been really pleased with the nursery. They have great facilities, lovely buildings, the staff are friendly, the children get lots of food (2 proper meals whereas some places only do a snack in the pm), separate sleeping rooms for the babies. I have also found that their send home for being sick policy isn't so stringent as a lot of nurseries my friends use where the parents sometimes feel they use any excuse to exclude the child for illness. We are moving house so will sadly have to leave soon. I looked at a couple of options in the new area we are moving to - another Bright Horizons and a Little Elms. I actually thought Little Elms was a bit horrible - not very nice location, really small rooms and very little space for the children to play, staff weren't as professional and they only had a public car park so you'd have to pay every time you dropped off or picked up! Viewing that place really made me understand why BH seems a bit expensive. IMO worth the price tag if you can afford the extra.
