Nursery birthday

My DD's 3rd birthday is coming up. She's come home with goodie bags and even books when her nursery friends have had their birthday's celebrated. Would rather not spend a fortune on plasticy crap that gets thrown away, but it's 33 children so could get pricey. Any ideas?

Mini tube of bubbles? They normally have packs of 10 in the poundshop party section, or good old Amazon has lots of options.

Many of our parents send in a cake for us to do with them. None of them have ever sent in toys or other gifts to the class. They do sometimes have a party and ask us to make sure the invites reach everyone.

Are you having a party and inviting them all?

If not then just send a cake in and a tub of sweets! There is zero need to send in little gifts to nursery just because it's their birthday!

We have never had toys handed in either. A cake is more appropriate I think- everyone sings happy birthday and each child gets a small bit cut up after lunch or at snack. Has to be shop bought and sealed usually

Thanks all - we'll be sending in a cake for sure, but probably not do anything on top of that.

We don't allow anything to be sent in. Children in our preschool setting have various dietary requirements including religious requirements and serious allergies. We always sing happy birthday to the child and have their friends make them a birthday card.
