30 hours funding

Hello - I had a query about splitting 30 hours funding between 2 different childcare providers and was told 2 different things.

At first I was going to split the week with 10hr / 20hr per provider, but I've been told now that you're only allowed to do a 15hr / 15hr split - does anyone know if this is correct?

thanks!

No not in my experience. You can split however you want as long as both settings agree.

You can split how ever you want so long as the providers agree but they usually have to be the same e.g. both term time only or both split over the year not a mixture of this

No it doesn't have to be an even split but each has to know how much the others is claiming and if it's from universal or extended so you could have a setting claiming 15 universal and 5 extended and the other claiming the remaining 10 extended. Schools always have the universal. Some settings choose not to share funding as they could be left unpaid if the other setting overclaims

I have been using a childminder but not all my hours free funding. A while ago she said she would need to begin charging me for extras. I did suggest that instead she use all the funding I was allocated as I wasn't using it. She said she would look into it and get back to me. She never did. I have since started sending my son to another childcare provider on another day and advised them of my free childcare codes etc and that they'd be sharing with childminder A etc. All fine until I get a message from my original childminder last night saying childcare provider B has just informed them of sharing but she has already applied for the full amount at the beginning of the term, that she wasn't aware of me sending my son there and she passed it to me and said what did I want to do? I've advised that I think I don't need to get involved, I was unaware she was claiming the full funding and can't she just pay them the money they are requesting? She seems upset with this and I think she wants me to sort it and pay them but they haven't contacted me! I don't feel like this is my issue. What should I do!?

A provider can only claim for the hours they provide....so if you are using 10 hours a week term time only they can only claim that....and will be in trouble if they are audited. As funding is term time only have you checked she isn't stretching it over the other 14 weeks a year providing about 11 hours a week all year?
