Leaving gift for nursery staff

So our little boy will be leaving his preschool nursery next month to go to full time school nursery 🥺😭

He’s been there since he turned 1 and he’s absolutely loved it. The staff are amazing and it’s an incredible place. I wanted to get the staff a leaving gift - he’s been with all the staff throughout his time there. I was thinking of doing little pamper packs for each of the staff : face pack, lip balm, a little scented candle and a lip balm rather than take chocolate/biscuits in. I recently done this for staff at work (80 of us in total) for carers week and they all loved it and appreciated it.

What do people think? Is that too much or is that okay?

I think that’s a great idea, I’m also wondering what to get our nursery staff as my eldest is leaving for school. I know it’s quite typical to get their key worker a gift but at his nursery the staff rotate between rooms so he’s had a few ‘key workers’ and I don’t want to leave out the other newer staff who work hard and probably don’t get as many gifts as they work in younger rooms IYSWIM.

I think the only downside to what you’ve described is that if the staff aren’t a fan of the individual items then they just become more tat in a cupboard at home, so what about getting one large pampering hamper that the staff can split between them? So a few nice face masks, nice bubble baths, bath bombs, hand creams, candles etc then it covers all tastes and less waste? Plus you can potentially spend more on each item.

Whilst you may like pamper packs, staff get absolutely loads of these items. I’ve always given gift vouchers like M&S as I know they can then spend them on whatever they want.

Mindymomo has a good point, What about a boots gift card? That way they can spend on a treat or essentials of pampering isn’t their thing.

When my daughter left nursery we put together a big hamper of really nice things- posh biscuits, chocs, drinks etc to go in their staff room. They seemed very pleased with it

I always give coffee shop vouchers. When I was nursery staff I didn’t have the money for things like coffee and cake in a coffee shop or it just seemed really frivolous and I always thought it was a nice treat. Even just a £5 was nice!
