Requesting nursery to secure corners of a sandpit

My daughter has seemingly innocuous incident in the nursery when she tripped, fell and hit a corner of a wooden sandpit with her head. She barely cried and was OK straight after, however
a) she hit it ~0.5cmcm from her eye
b) in the night she started vomiting, we had to got to A&E and after some observations and more vomiting episodes they suggested CT scan; thankfully no brain damage but CT scan comes with some risks

We would like to request the nursery to secure the corners, to be honest I am a bit surprised they are not already given the amount of other security measures in place. What is the best course of action? I am not from the UK, but in my country I would request to see the manager and discuss it with her, however I think that would be a bit too much here? I was thinking about sending an email to the nursery manager and discussing separately with her assigned career. Would that work?

If you haven't already, you should speak to the manager & explain what happened, after you got home. Presumably an accident fom was completed & given to you when you picked your daughter up on the day of the accident.
It may need reporting to Ofsted by the nursery & the nursery definitely need to do a risk assessment in light of what happened to your daughter & state what action will be taken to help prevent such an accident in the future.
Hope your daughter has recovered & is now well.
