Sleep in pushchair

It took me months to get my baby to go to sleep in the pushchair or car, rather than the breastfeeding to sleep, I found it was the only way other than breastfeeding and it was a piece of mind for me that someone else would be able to get him to sleep. He would transfer into a cot from the car seat and stay asleep.

Nursery have point blank no to the pushchair to sleep. He's put in a cot or rocked to sleep in arms they suggested. He's not a cuddly baby. The pushchair is restraining him they said ofsted would say.

His first settle he got tired and they called me in half an hour early as they couldn't settle him and I took him home to go to sleep. Today (annother settle) he fell asleep on the way there and I transferred him from the car into a cot fine and he slept an hour and a half and played the rest of the time fine.

My concern is now he is due to start next week 5hrs a morning twice a week and he will want a nap during this time, my work is a half hour drive from nursery and I worry they will call me to say they can't settle him on my first day back to work.

Anyone else had this? What did you do?

Nursery have special magical powers getting the children to sleep. My DS was never good at sleeping at home but would just go and lie down on the floor at nursery to sleep

Nurseries have super powers! He will sleep in the cot for them.

Mine sleeps in the pushchair at home but at nursery where they’re supervising more kids I’d expect then to only be put to sleep somewhere that meets safe sleep guidelines so cot or floor mattress. He’ll be fine though, all kids adjust eventually. And if he’s around 1 and only there 5 hours then he’d probably do ok not napping if nursery is say 8am to 1pm and he sleeps afterwards- 2 hours napping from 1pm-3pm was what mine always did at home or at nursery.

Yup, agree with everyone else - nursery superpowers will kick in.
