Just wondering if anyone donated snacks to their child’s nursery and if so what kind of snacks?

On the welcome information noticed it says they ask for donation of snacks.

Are you sure it doesn't say 'donation towards snacks'? That's more usual. £1 a week or something similar.

I pay nearly £100 per day per child. Absolutely no way am I donating snacks too! They should be eating caviar and lobster for that price.

How long are they in? That's crazy money.

Fruit would be an option OP if they want actual food. Stuff in packets.

Full day. Pretty standard in my bit of London.

When my son was in state nursery (funded hours) they asked for £1 donation per week and also some fruit for snacks and a box of tissues in the winter. Still seemed like a bargain to me

That would be unusual because of allergies. How would they know if even fruit hadn't be stored with foods like nuts or celery?

YomAsalYomBasal · 03/07/2023 12:58

We are asked for a donation of £10 a term, are you sure they don't mean money donations?!

Cheeky bastards.

When I was a teacher in a school nursery we asked for a small donation towards snacks and cookery ingredients. I didn't record who had paid, although we kept accounts, but we always had a surplus which I used to buy extras for the class. There was no school budget for it.

Yes. We bring in a box of breadsticks/ bag of apples/ cucumber each week. All parents are asked to do so but it's never an issue if you don't. They share everything at snack time.

It's a preschool who don't charge top up fees.
