Nursery - advice pls! Is this a bad decision?

Just wanted some opinions from other parents who have started little ones at nursery.

My 13 month old is starting nursery as soon as we return from a 1 week family holiday abroad which means 3x settling in sessions will be the week before we fly.

I’m now starting to worry that the holiday is going to disrupt him settling in and maybe I should have delayed going back to work by another week so we could have started the sessions when we get back and transited into
his new routine. Now he won’t have been at the nursery for a week and will go straight into a full day.

Partner thinks I’m overthinking and that it will be better to just keep as is.

I guess nobody knows how your LO is going to react until you go but what would you do in this situation?

Thank you

Well... whatever you think is best is the best option here I think. If you can delay by a week and then feel more comfortable that may be better, babies definately notice if you are feeling anxious and it will be an anxious time for you when first starting childcare as it is.

On the flip side of that I perfectly planned settling sessions for mine, did them, then he fell sick the week he was due to start (after settling sessions the week before) and couldn't start his full days/week until the next week which was full days... ultimately there wasn't much choice and it did go okay! But it stressed me out a bit!

I'm sure it'll be fine, children all react differently anyway to settling in and then starting. Having a week off between to process might be better anyway. Good luck returning to work, my little one loved nursery.
