Routine around nursery

Sorry I know I make lots of anxious threads but.ik.now worrying about routine aroud nursery, bedtime, dinner, etc. If a child is collected at five thirty, and it's forty minutes home then isn't dinner/bath etc all a bit of a rush? Do you let them sleep on the way home

I wouldn't let them sleep on way home as too close to bed time. I would have a meal in slow cooked or pre cooked at weekend an do the following-
630 tea
7 bath/pjs/story
730 bed

Then clean up after. Also you could eat with them or to save time after.

Also I would bath alternating nights allowing for a bit of play /time together on none bath nights

We would judge a parent that picked their child up and put them to bed.
When are you spending time with them? Shocking.
Prepare for a lit of calls that he is not being himself and you need to collect.

Most small babies are asleep in bed by 7. If they don't get home til 6.15/6.30 that's not much time together anyways. And if baby wakes at say 6am, then there's time together then and weekends and her non working days.

So the nursery staff see your child more than you do?
There are children that are in 7.30am to 6pm 5 days a week.

And?

My daughter does 4 long days, has done since 13 months. We still have Sat-Mon of dedicated time. But Tues-Fri I only get about 2hrs of awake time with her. It doesn’t impact us negatively. When she is at school it will be just the same but it will be Mon-Fri 7.30-6 with wraparound care.

Is this really a surprise? Will obviously be the case if children are in mon-fri and 7.30-6. I don't think that's the majority though is it, most I know do around 2-4 days a week, with parents/ grandparents doing the other days.

Sandwich and wet wipes
Car picnic is great idea

The plan is three days a week,I was hoping for something like, five thirty, collect, six ten, get home, dinner, six forty-five, brief pla ytime, seven bath, seven twenty story and bottle

Not sure how he'll do with that though

If I want him to eat or at least drink milk before we go out,I will have to get him up at six thirty. He currently has a two or three o clock milk feed though.

Hoping to keep him in similar routine on days off too but in laws need to see him some evenings so will need to factor that in too which makes it more difficult.
