Hi,
im just interested to find out whether anyone else’s nursery is charging them for the kings coronation bank holiday despite the fact they are closed? We are being charged a full days fees but they aren’t a offering any child care options.
many thanks

My nursery charges for bank holidays anyway.

Restforabit · 23/04/2023 16:39

Same. It is a bit annoying, but it is standard for BHs.

I'm a childminder. Standard fees for bank holidays as standard.

PinkPlantCase · 23/04/2023 17:10

Ours has always charged for bank holidays.

Redlorryyellowlorryblue · 26/04/2023 18:14

Its standard for nurseries to charge on bank holidays.

mrsed1987 · 26/04/2023 18:33

As everyone else says. We pay a monthly fee and it's the same for May regardless of the 3 Mondays he will be at home with me rather than at nursery.

Just the way it is!

We get hammered for BHs.

Toddler goes 2 days a week (M& F) so we end up paying as much for bank hols as a full time attendee, while those that only attend on T/W/Th don't get charged at all.

It's so unfair.

No concession being made for the coronation by either unlike the platinum jubilee last year.

buckeejit · 27/04/2023 21:32

@VintedoreBay that's harsh imo - it should be pro rata I think. Is there any possibility of you changing your day so your less disadvantaged?

Catzby · 15/05/2023 11:55

We get a 5% discount, but in all honesty, we don't really see it with all the prices going up.
