DC2 due to start nursery in a few weeks and we're attending a drop in session this week. It's for an hour in the afternoon.

I presume it will be like a 'stay and play' to give the Nursery chance to see your dc2 and your dc2 chance to see the Nursery. A sort of settling in session, so when you first leave him/her it won't be their first time in the building / meeting the staff / seeing all the plethora of activities / being around several other dc, etc. Smile

@UsingChangeofName thank you! I was assuming I would leave them for the session and pick up afterwards but wasn't entirely sure x

Have you been before? I think if you have it will be a dropping them off situation as an hour is a long time for a parent to be in a nursery.

If you haven't been before then some of that hour would be taken up by you looking around.

@SnoozyVanWinkle we've had a tour of the nursery and have a start date in place. They offered a drop in session after confirming the start date.

It's normally either stay and play or sometimes a quick parent meeting while children play.

Different Nurseries do 'settling in' differently.
Some do it differently for different families - depending on how the family want to do it.
You really need to ask them what they mean by their invitation.
