Does anyone know how much a nursery receives from the government for the 15 and 30 hours of funding?

It will vary depending on which LA you are with I Got £3.80 as a childminder I charged £4.50 normally this was in 2021 . I no longer childmind but would no longer be offering funded hours if I was as I could not afford the drop in income especially with the cost of living nowadays

Varies by local authority. I can't open this on my phone, but I think you'll find them listed here.

I think this details what is given to the LA by central government, and from this they're allowed to top slice upto 5% to cover their costs in administering the scheme, so the amount the provider receives will be less.

Don't know how they get away with it but they take more than 5%!

I've just looked and last year that says we should have got a minimum of 4.88, we only got 4.62. It's not fit for purpose.

Just checked and it's definitely a legal requirement to pass on 95% of the funding and has been since 2018. If you think that they're taking more, you should ask to see their funding formula. My county share this information openly. They're passing on 94.67 in your county so not quite 95% (I don't think they're allowed to round up).

CatGrins · 19/11/2022 11:28

I make it 89.88%, am I doing the maths wrong?

The Borough were paid £5.14, 95% of that is 4.88 and we got (and still get) 4.62.

CatGrins · 19/11/2022 11:36

And this year (22-23) they receive £5.31! I still get 4.62.

Anyone know how I raise this?

Ah just read up on the loopholes. Cheeky fuckers.

Parents reading this, please be aware this is how the government and local councils are screwing providers over. They are forcing settings to make extra charges because of the crap funding and charging you as tax payers a higher amount to fund this shit.
