Which combination of hours

DD's preschool is going to close down 😭 I love that school and it was so convenient.

Anyway, likely we will move her to the nursery attached to DS' school. We've applied to the school for her already and she's due to start reception next year. I'm not sure what combo of hours to do for her.

So we only get the 15hours and I'm a SAHP so want to avoid paying for childcare at this stage.

We live about a 20 min walk from school, 5 min drive.

Sessions are;

Morning 8:45 (same as school) to 11:45
Afternoon 12:15 to 3:15
All day: 8:45 - 3:15 so same as school.

Options are

5 mornings - but collection will likely be in the car and not idea timings
2 full days and 1 half day - ok option but I'd like her there more days
3 full days and pay £15 a week
5 mornings and see if I could pay for her to stay for lunch which would help me lots. I think around £7.50 a week.

Which would you do?

I would probably go for 2.5 days.
Not the half day options as really it isn’t very long!

3 days or 2.5 days.

Leaves 2 days for other stuff like meeting with friends, longer trips, swimming, library etc.

(DD1 did 2.5 days. DD2 did 5 mornings (funded) plus two days paid until end of school day)

I should have added she does 5 half days at the moment 9:15-12:15.

That timing was perfect for me, especially as preschool is 2 mins from my house.

5 mornings and pay for lunch would work better for me
