Nursery telling me how I should use my free hours

my toddler is currently entitled to 15 nursery whilst I work. I have now applied for 30 free and contact the nursery to arranged how this will be split over the week as I would like to pick up extra work now my child will be at nursery more. I explained I would like this to be 4 days same times as the currently are. I had a response telling me that they only offer 3 10 hour days. 7:30-17:30. The only reason my daughter has 2 day currently is because I was told this is how they do it at the nursery when I applied for the 15 hours.. Now they said I have to have her in 3x 10 hour days. The manager didn’t say it was because they are full. Just that how they do it. Is this right ?? This would make it difficult to pick more hours up at work with these times.

Ultimately it's up to them.

It sounds similar to nursery's that my DC go to. They have half day sessions 8-1 or 1-6 or full day 8-6. So you either pick 3 full days or the half days. You can't say I want them in 7 hours this day etc.

Our nursery was the same. A childminder might be better for you.

It's up to the nursery, not you.
The hours are not free, they are poorly funded by the government. The government do not pay enough to cover the nurseries costs so they have to offer the hours in a way that suits them.

You can ask, but it’s entirely up to them. Someone might correct me here, but I don’t think they have to accept all applications if they can’t make it work for them. As someone has said, they get sod all for the hours. Less than £5 an hour. They need to offer it in a way which suits them

Yes, up to them. Childminders may be more flexible.
My daughter's nursery only allows 9am-3pm Mon-Fri for 30 hours.
