Injury at nursery

Hi guys,

hoping you can help. My child is 2 and gets 15 hours free funding. I’m having issues with the nursery with them not supervising my child correctly. I’m wanting to pull him out of the nursery but not sure of the process for it. Could someone please advise. Thanks

What's happened?

HolyMoly22 · 05/05/2022 20:22

Will need to check your contract as it differs between all

HerRoyalHappiness · 05/05/2022 20:23

It differs from setting to setting. Check the contract you signed and it will tell you on there.

MynameisJune · 05/05/2022 20:24

Did you sign a contract stating what notice you need to give? If so give them notice and either leave straight away and still pay the bill for the final x amount of time or keep him there until the end of the notice period.

kids get injured no matter who is with them, has he never fallen over/off the bed/bumped his head with you?

Lou9888 · 05/05/2022 20:25

Hes had injuries at the nursery on multiple occasions but when asked they don’t seem to have a clue what’s happened. It’s happened once again and this is my final straw if I’m honest. It’s quite clear they don’t watch the children properly otherwise they would be aware of what has happened.

i understand that accidents do happen, but when it’s happened several times it’s a cause for concern.

& thank you guys I will have a look through the contract

There is no procedure as such just tell them you're not coming back. If there's a serious safeguarding concern though I would advise putting in a proper complaint though

Find a new nursery with a place.

Pay the deposit if they require it.

Give notice at the current nursery depending on what that is.

Send child to the current nursery for the notice period.

Start at new nursery when current nursery notice period is done.

Worrying. They should be getting you to sign a form to say you have been told what's happened to him when you collect him.

I would start by looking for another nursery place and get something in place unless you can cover childcare otherwise. Your contract will state the notice period you need to give to the current nursery

I work in a nursery and have some really clumsy children who have accident forms on a daily basis. From tripping up to walking into things, to falling over toys and dropping things on their toes. They need wrapped in bubble wrap for their own protection.

no matter how careful or how supervised they are it still happens.

have you spoken to room staff or management about your concerns?
