Nurseries

Which nursery?

I am not happy with our current nursery and planning to move DS soon. He is currently in a daycare style nursery with flexible hours and cover during the holidays, I was going to keep him there as it's easy and convenient but there has been three new managers since he started and the service they provide has really gone down hill. There's poor communication, little scope for parental involvement and they've been very unhelpful in helping me with DS speech delay. Myself and the other parents are putting together a complaint but I don't see it improving.

He is nearly 3 so I could switch him to another local day care which also has very flexible hours and potentially keep him there until reception.

OR

Do I send him to nursery school in September which has better qualified teachers but less flexible hours, no cover during holidays. There's some good private nurseries around here but a higher price tag for less hours of child care.

Is a nursery school suitable for your needs surrounding working hours etc?

Why not look for a Registered Childminder? You can find a list under your Council website, look on childcare.co.uk or Care.com visit a couple you like the sound of and go from there …
Hope your little one is soon sorted and happy xxx

@girlmom21 I can work flexibly so it's not a huge issue in that sense but I did like dropping him off and picking him up when I needed to. I won't require wrap around care if we go for the second option;

I had considered the preschool option before and decided to keep him where he was for my own ease and so as not to mess him around as he was settled. I partly made that decision as he would have started school in September and I was due a baby in October so I appreciated not having to make all those changes in his life and be tied to strict hours whilst caring for a new born. But I since lost the baby so I don't have that as deciding factor anymore,
