Impact of different nursery every year from age 2 until reception

The school we plan for my child to attend has a pre school so they will attend that age 4 and go on to reception there. We loThe year prior they will attend the nursery of an independent school which only takes children from age 3 and is quite a good nursery. And the year prior to that they will attend a different nursery which is ok but not amazing at age 2. Will there be any impact on my child being in 3 different nurseries/schools for a year each? They are attending each setting at the earliest available opportunity so it's not possible for my child to attend from age 2 until reception in any of the nurseries/pre-schools?

There’s no reason why it should have a negative impact unless your child finds it especially hard to settle. It will probably help develop a well rounded and adaptable child who is ready for reception at the right time.

Not quite the same, but DD1 attended one from 7m to 3, and then pre-school at their future school 3-4. She was totally fine and secure as a rock. We always billed it as the next “grown-up” stage, ie going to New Nursery because she’s such a big girl now and how grown up she was, so she always looked forward to the change. It helps that until about 3/3.5 they don’t really have friends, they just play alongside each other. The friends she made 3-4 in pre-school continued into school.

My DD attended one nursery from 22months until 2.5years, then we moved and she attended nursery 2 from then until 3 when she started preschool, until she 4.5 when she started reception in a different school. I don't think it really benefitted or disadvantaged her in any way. (Except the preschool was fantastic and overshadowed the two nurseries!)
I wouldn't have planned to do it like that. Nursery 2 only took children up to age 3 though. (Not UK)

Personally I don't feel its good for young children to go through so much change for no good reason. Positive consistent bonds are important to a child's wellbeing a resilience.

I suspect it would be fine, but you'd miss much of the benefit of the good nurseries if they need to spend time settling in.

Personally I'd send aim to keep her in the first nursery until she's ready for the school one.

You might well find that she loves it, so even if it's not as starry on paper, it's good for your DD.

Just see how the first one goes . You might find your child and you loves it so much you end up staying all 3 years . If you or child don’t love it then you have other options lined up . Children are very good at adapting but I agree with what others said. It takes time to readjust and get use to new environment so no need to change 3 times unless you are unhappy , need to change, or feel child would benefit from it .

Why are you bothering with the second nursery? Just keep in nursery one until she can go into nursery 3.

But long term she'll be fine - DS was in three nurseries before 4, (one in the UK for six months, one in Canada for just under two years, and one back in the UK until he started reception, which again was at a school none of his nursery friends went to, so whole new different group of people).

The first two switches were totally fine - he was perfectly happy in both but never seemed bothered about having left. Has no memories of either place now. He missed his friends and keyworker this time around, but made new friends quickly, and seems to really love his new school.
