Two year check EYFS?

Just wanted to see if it's still the thing that nurseries complete a two year check? I know the health visitor one can be done at two and a bit years old and it's only the ASQ questionnaires really that I've looked at already. Her 12 month was responding to that over the phone so I'm expecting it to be similar although I would like to get her measured properly as she was an SGA baby.

But I had it in my head that we should have had something from/done something with nursery too? I have emailed them but no reply yet which is unlike them. We never got an end of term (although it is an AYR setting) report and there haven't been any observations uploaded since DD turned two and went up a room, whereas she was having one a week (ish) in the little room and we got a progress report at Christmas, which felt like a really good level of feedback.

I don't want to be 'that' parent if this is normal but it's not quite sitting right with me. The daily handover is good and she loves going so it's not the end of the world but I would like some idea if there's anything we need to keep an eye on, there were a couple of ideas in her Christmas report for us to work on learning through play, that we hadn't picked up on as being weaker areas for her at home, and you can see the difference it's made already.

Yes they will do one but it can be done at any point between age 2 and 3.
There are only two statutory pieces of paperwork that must be done in EYFS and that is one of them.

Oh that's good to know that it doesn't have to as they turn two, thank you, I didn't know it was statutory so that's interesting. I guess the other one relates to transition to school? Maybe they don't do summer 'reports' like they do at Christmas but seems weird we've not had anything at all since she left the baby room, maybe the baby room staff were really enthusiastic about the recording app or something.

We aim to do ours when they are about 2.5yo. They have usually been in the room long enough for us to know their abilities well at that point, especially if they have moved up from younger rooms. As pp said, it is a check has to be done so they will do it at some point.

As for less feedback - the toddler room is busy. Under twos sleep more and there is a 1:3 ratio. Our baby room staff get blocks of time more often than in the toddler room to update paper work. The toddler room is the one that is most difficult to get a bit of time to complete other tasks in. Older children will go and play with friends for a little while while and adult has a job to do but toddlers need close supervision.

All that said, if you are wanting more feedback and a progress update the staff should be able to make time to do this for you and you could ask for them to schedule a meeting if you wanted to have a chance to talk away from other parents such as at drop off/pick up times.

Thanks @tumbleweed101 I can see how the toddler room would be really full on. I think I will need to ask the question as no reply to my email, the manger did open the door to me this afternoon but sprinted off... I hope I haven't caused a problem just by asking them a question about how it all works (I haven't mentioned the change in feedback in my email, just asked about the two year check and if it ties in with the HV one).
