Do you send your child to nursery when they're ill?

Do you send your toddler to nursery when they're ill? DD started nursery recently and comes home every single week with some kind of cold or illness. I expected this as I know they have to build immunity to common colds etc. However, I don't know when I can send her to nursery and when I can't? She's obviously catching the colds from other kids who have colds, so presumably some people do send their kids in when they're ill. My gut feel is as long as she's ok in herself and is just a bit snotty with no temp etc, and is happy to play, I should send her in. What is normal / the right etiquette??

A cold, yes, or a lingering cough (they linger for weeks and weeks - obvious pre-COVID and now assuming a negative COVID test).

If they have a fever or d&v, no, we follow nursery policy. Nursery policy is 24 hours without a fever or 48 hours after d&v.

Or if there was some other obvious reason why they couldn't go. A few weeks ago, my toddler hurt his foot. We kept him home because he literally couldn't walk on it. Sent him back in the next day when it was better and he was able to walk normally again.

I wouldn't ever keep them out for a cold or a post-viral cough or that sort of thing unless they were truly unwell and not themselves. I take the same approach for my school age one. If they are truly not well during the day, someone will call and I'll go collect, but 99% of the time, they're fine.
