Feedback- how often?

My son has been attending nursery two days a week since Feb half term.
We've not had any kind of formal feedback, not or there any parent meetings scheduled.
Now, I am absolutely not saying that I expect feedback/a detailed run down of his day every time I pick him up, but I would've expected something, maybe at the end of the half term?
All I get when I ask is that he has eaten his lunch/had a poo. Nothing about relationships/skills worked on etc.
I am just interested to hear other people's experiences.
The nursery has recently become Ducklings, which I believe is a national chain?
Many thanks.

We get a little sheet everyday with food eaten, nappies & what they’ve done briefly. I also have a good chat to her keyworker usually & sometimes he shows me photos of her doing activities on their iPad.

We also have an app where once a month they do a bulk upload of photos & observations and link it to the EYFS & whether she’s met or working towards etc.

We have parents evening twice a year, currently by telephone.

DD is 22 months and we get photos/videos and a little bit of commentary uploaded so we can see them. That also includes a tick box bit where they select the different skills/developmental milestones that are being worked on. We get new photos I’d guess on average twice a week.

Thank you so much for sharing what happens at your nurseries.
It is confirming what I thought. We really should be getting some kind of feedback.

I’d say it might depend on age. In baby room- so up until the term they turned 2, we got daily run down of what they did that day, what they ate/drank, amount of sleep & nappy count. When they move into the main room- very little! They send him out of the door with a jolly wave and that’s it. We get an observation with photos/eyfs links probably 2-3 times a term and a parents evening call/appointment twice a year. But I’m used to it as it’s not DC1 and I know they’d talk to me if there was a problem.

We have a daily diary and then we get regular updates on Tapestry, most weeks daily but occasionally they miss a day. Sometimes these just photos and videos but several times a month we get detailed observations scored against EYFS. DD is 19 months and has been going for 6 months.

My little boy is 28 months.
I'd just like to know if he needs help with anything that we can work on at home. I ask but all they mention is how much he's eaten.
I think we'll be switching to a different provider at Christmas, so at least the end is in sight!

Where i used to work we gave daily feedback of what they had ate, what kind of day they had etc but we also did monthly planning for each child using the curriculum. we would discuss this with the parents and work together on a list of things they could do at home to help their child's development. You should at least be told what they are doing to help your child's development and should be involved in this where possible.
