Does your baby wear shoes to nursery?

This is a bit of a ridiculous question I apologise but FTM and obviously with lockdown baby has always been at home, in car seat or in pram with blanket/pram muff so has never worn "shoes" just socks.

He has his first settling in session at nursery and I'm currently overthinking absolutely everything about it! My latest random thought is do I need to get him some shoes? Will I look like a terrible mum for sending him just in socks!?

(For context he is 8 months old, crawling but not standing.)

Pre walking, no just socks or bare feet in summer.

my sons first shoes were bought when he started walking at 15m , before that socks or barefoot

My son started nursery when he was 13 months old and wasn't walking. I didn't send him in shoes because he didn't have any. They did comment after he'd been there a few weeks about shoes for going outside and by then he was just starting to pull himself up and cruise so I bought some. I didn't see the point before though because he wasn't on his feet so didn't need them.

I bought some 'waterproof booties' from jojo which are soft mean they can crawl round the garden without ruining socks.

Mine has always had one pair of pram shoe type things on the go, but just because they don't fall off like socks do. Pre-walking I'm sure they're supposed to be bare foot for their own development, ie being able to stretch their toes out and find their balance etc

Neither of my children wore shoes regularly before they were walking confidently. I made sure their feet would be warm if childminder (in our case) happened to take them out in weather like now (both had snowsuits with covered feet) but did not wear shoes

Not shoes, but once he was cruising they asked for him to be sent in moccasins so he was safer outside (very outdoorsy nursery, even the baby room went outside a lot). Like these (I had some from Dotty Fish and some from Juicy Bumbles):

www.amazon.co.uk/Dotty-Fish-Leather-Toddler-Design/dp/B01M19JRUH/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&smid=AKJSOP4R2P4LL&psc=1&keywords=dotty%2Bfish&th=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUE3M0NRS1M0UTlKQlMmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA5NDEyMDczUlUxSENDTE9SSEtIJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAzMTgzNzY3TklDTzdLOVpDNUImd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1613038173&sr=8-1-spons

I kept him in them until he'd been walking about six weeks and was steady enough on his feet for proper walkers.

Just to say, for handover he was only in socks - they were fine with that! And often no socks, because he used to take them off...
