Holiday fees at nursery

I have two dcs in nursery - they have been going one day a week for a year.

The nursery will charge me only half rate if they miss a session because they are on holiday but will only do this for two weeks a year.

Next week they are coming away with me - do you think I should expect the nursery to not charge me at all for the day they will miss given that I have not taken a holiday at all this year and will therefore be using up only one of my two weeks' allowance?

Gosh - you are lucky! Our nursery charges us regardless! If we take DS out of nursery for any time, we still have to pay a full months fees!

I think all you can do is ask the nursery manager - if they are reasonable then they should do it but they are within their rights not to as they are sticking to the contract

How does your holiday year work? At dd's nursery it is a year from the month the child starts nursery so for eg June-June rather than a calendar year. It might be worth checking their policy on this as you might be told that there is still too much time left on their holiday year, iyswim.

Well I'll ask and see - before the youngest two I had ds in there full time for three years so I feel I've paid them so much they could give me a bit of leeway, contract or no
